    Election Day: Full Day: $220. Part Day: $117. Training: $45. Bilingual workers earn an additional $15 flat rate. Early Voting workers are paid $15.30 to $15.76 per hour.

Work Requirements

  • Minimum Age: 16-year-old high school students.

  • You must complete training to be a poll worker.

  • Training Details: In-person training typically lasts 3 hours. An additional in-person training lasting 2 hours is required every two years. Chief election inspectors are required to take 6 hours of training every 2 years.

In most cases, poll workers must be qualified electors of the county in which they serve (i.e., adult U.S. citizens who reside in the county and are not otherwise disqualified to vote).

16 and 17-year-old student poll workers can only work at the polling place serving their residence.

Individuals who are comfortable using computers and tablets are strongly encouraged to apply.

Poll workers who speak English and one of the following languages are encouraged to apply: Spanish,Hmong,Russian.
