Voter Registration Requirements

  • You must be registered to vote in Virginia to be a poll worker

Work Requirements

  • Minimum Age: 18. High school students interested in serving as election pages should contact their local election officials for information on getting involved.

  • You must complete training to be a poll worker.

  • Training Details: Poll workers are certified for two year terms. Training is required at least once per two year term and will be updated upon the institution of new voting laws. Training typically lasts 3 hours.

Individuals who speak English and one of the following languages are encouraged to apply: Vietnamese, Korean.

Students under the age of 18 (High School Pages) work 8 hour shifts and are awarded service credit and a certificate of appreciation, but are not paid.
