Voter Registration Requirements

  • Lead poll workers (also called "clerks") must be registered to vote in the county in which they are working, or in an adjoining county. All other poll workers (also called "poll managers") must be registered to vote in South Carolina, and there is no requirement to be a resident of the county or an adjoining county.

  • Note: This voter registration requirement does not apply to poll workers under the age of 18.

Work Requirements

  • Minimum Age: 16-year-old state residents

  • You must complete training to be a poll worker.

  • Training Details: In-person training typically lasts 3 to 4 hours. Training is typically completed in-person but online training may be available.
