    $200 to $225 for Election Day. $35 for training. In addition, mileage to attend training is reimbursed. Poll workers who work at a polling place 10 miles or more from their home shall be allowed reimbursement for mileage incurred from their home to and from their assigned polling place. Inspectors shall be allowed reimbursement for mileage incurred to receive or return ballots and materials for the election.

Work Requirements

  • Minimum Age: 18

  • You must complete training to be a poll worker.

  • Training Details: Poll workers are re-trained in each even-numbered year, and at other times as the Secretary of the State Election Board deems necessary. In-person and online training options may be available.

Poll workers who are not scheduled to work at their own polling places should plan to request and cast an absentee ballot or vote early.

Poll workers must have their own cell phone and transportation to the polls.
