    $250 per day. $25 to $100 for training. Interpreters and Accessibility Workers earn $250 per day and $25 for training.

Voter Registration Requirements

  • Poll workers must be registered voters residing in the City of New York

  • Note: This voter registration requirement does not apply to poll workers under the age of 18.

Work Requirements

  • Minimum Age: 17-year-old high school students.

  • You must complete training to be a poll worker.

  • Training Details: In-person training typically lasts 4 hours. Poll workers must complete training annually.

Several positions available with different qualification requirements. 17-year-old students who are interested in being poll workers should contact the Board of Elections office in their borough for more information.

Interpreters are needed who speak English and one of the following: Bangladeshi, Bengali, Hindi, Hmong, Korean, Mandarin, Cantonese, Punjabi, Spanish, or Urdu. Interpreters do not need to be registered voters, but must be NYC residents.
