Voter Registration Requirements

  • You must be registered to vote in Wake County to be a poll worker

  • Note: This voter registration requirement does not apply to poll workers under the age of 18.

Work Requirements

  • Minimum Age: 17-year-old high school students who are U.S. citizens and county residents.

  • You must complete training to be a poll worker.

  • Training Details: In-person training is required for first-time poll workers and typically lasts 3 hours. Additional in-person or online training may be required depending on the position.

Poll workers must assist with polling place set-up on the day before Election Day.

In addition to Election Day workers, Wake County is looking for pre-election workers. Please contact election officials, listed above, for additional information.
