    $132 to $188 for Election Day. $25 plus mileage reimbursement for training. $9 to $13 for Early Voting. Workers are eligible for mileage reimbursement if working outside of their home precinct for Election Day or Early Voting.

Voter Registration Requirements

  • You must be registered to vote in Columbus County to be a poll worker

  • Note: This voter registration requirement does not apply to poll workers under the age of 18.

Work Requirements

  • Minimum Age: 17-year-old high school students who are U.S. citizens and county residents.

  • You must complete training to be a poll worker.

  • Training Details: In-person training typically lasts 3 hours.

In addition to Election Day workers, Columbus County is looking for pre-election workers. Early Voting shifts run from 7:30 AM to 7:30 PM Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 3:00 PM on Saturday, and 12:30 PM to 5:00 PM on Sunday.
