    $200 to $350 for Election Day. $45 for training for an initial training session. $15 for any additional training session. $13.33 to $23.33 per hour for early voting.

Voter Registration Requirements

  • You must be registered to vote in Michigan to be a poll worker

  • Note: This voter registration requirement does not apply to poll workers under the age of 18.

Work Requirements

  • Minimum Age: 16

  • You must complete training to be a poll worker.

  • Training Details: New poll worker training is conducted in-person training and typically lasts 3 to 4 hours. Returning workers can complete training online. Poll workers are required to attend training at least once every two years.

Poll workers must be able to use a laptop computer, and have basic computer skills like using a flash drive, connecting cords, and using email.
