    $17.56 per hour for Election Day, Vote Center work, and training. Supervisors earn an additional $25 flat rate per day. Workers who deliver ballots earn mileage at $0.585 per mile. Additional $10 for identified bilingual workers.

Voter Registration Requirements

  • Poll workers over the age of 18 must either be registered voters in California or be lawfully admitted for permanent residence in the U.S. and otherwise eligible to register to vote except for their lack of U.S. citizenship.

  • Note: This voter registration requirement does not apply to poll workers under the age of 18.

Work Requirements

  • Minimum Age: 16-year-old students who are U.S. citizens or lawfully admitted for U.S. permanent residence.

  • You must complete training to be a poll worker.

  • Training Details: In-person and online training are required. In-person training typically lasts 2 hours. Online training typically lasts 2 hours. Early Voting poll workers must attend a paid training shift if they are working at a Vote Center.

Bilingual individuals are encouraged to apply. Yolo County is searching for bilingual individuals who speak English and any of the following languages are encouraged to apply: ASL, Mandarin, Cantonese, Korean, Punjabi, Russian, and Spanish.

Yolo County is hiring workers for 4 to 11 day Vote Centers, including Election Day. For non-Election Day work, the working hours are from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
