Compensation:
$100 for a half day. $200 for a full day. $50 per training session.

Work Requirements

  • Minimum Age: 16-year-old high school students.

  • You must complete training to be a poll worker.

  • Training Details: In-person training typically lasts 6 hours. Lunch is provided for any training over four hours long. Chief election inspectors are required to take 6 hours of training every 2 years.

In most cases, poll workers must be qualified electors of the county in which they serve (i.e., adult U.S. citizens who reside in the county and are not otherwise disqualified to vote).

16 and 17-year-old student poll workers can only work at the polling place serving their residence.

Poll workers are provided with fruit and supper on Election Day.
