Poll Worker Start Time:

Poll Worker End Time:
9:00 PM (Part-day shifts are available from 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM and 1:30 PM and 9:00 PM or later.)
Compensation:
Full Day: $120 to $145. Half Day: $60. $10 per hour for training.

Work Requirements

  • Minimum Age: 16-year-old high school students.

  • You must complete training to be a poll worker.

  • Training Details: In-person training typically lasts 1 to 2 hours. Online options may be available. Poll workers must attend training prior to most elections, depending on the election cycle.

Additional Information

In most cases, poll workers must be qualified electors of the county in which they serve (i.e., adult U.S. citizens who reside in the county and are not otherwise disqualified to vote).

16 and 17-year-old student poll workers can only work at the polling place serving their residence.
