Work Requirements

  • Minimum Age: 16-year-old high school students.

  • You must complete training to be a poll worker.

  • Training Details: In-person training typically lasts 2 hours. Poll workers must complete training at least once annually. Supervisory workers may need to attend multiple training sessions. Training is offered prior to each election through a mix of in-person, recorded, and online offerings.

In most cases, poll workers must be qualified electors of the county in which they serve (i.e., adult U.S. citizens who reside in the county and are not otherwise disqualified to vote).

The City of Menomonie is seeking regular poll workers, high school poll workers, and chief inspectors.

16 and 17-year-old student poll workers can only work at the polling place serving their residence.
