$90 to $120 for Election Day. $20 for training.

Voter Registration Requirements

  • You must be registered to vote in Virginia to be a poll worker

  • Note: This voter registration requirement does not apply to poll workers under the age of 18.

Work Requirements

  • Minimum Age: High school students interested in getting involved should contact their local election officials for information.

  • You must complete training to be a poll worker.

  • Training Details: Training typically lasts 45 minutes to 1 hour and may be completed in-person or online. Poll workers serve three year terms and must be trained to Commonwealth developed standards at the start of each term. They must also be updated upon the institution of any new laws.
