8:00 PM or later (You must work the full day)
Compensation:
$150 to $250 for Election Day. $11 to $13 per hour for Early Voting.

Voter Registration Requirements

  • You must be registered to vote in Haywood County to be a poll worker

  • Note: This voter registration requirement does not apply to poll workers under the age of 18.

Work Requirements

  • Minimum Age: 17-year-old high school students who are U.S. citizens and county residents.

  • You must complete training to be a poll worker.

  • Training Details: In-person training typically lasts 3 hours.

Additional Information

Poll workers must help set up the precinct the night before Election Day. Set-up typically lasts 2 hours.

Individuals who are comfortable using computers and tablets are strongly encouraged to apply.

Early Voting workers must be able to commit to the 17-day Early Voting period. During Early Voting, poll workers can work part-time shifts. Please note that these Early Voting details may have changed due to the impact of Hurricane Helene. Contact county election officials for additional information.
