Poll Worker Start Time:
6:00 AM
Poll Worker End Time:
8:30 to 9:30 PM (Full day shifts are preferred. Part-day shifts may also be available.)
Compensation:
$190 to $220 for Election Day. $20 for workers who pick up and drop off election materials. $20 for Election Day training. $12 per hour for Early Voting work. $15 for Early Voting training.

Voter Registration Requirements

  • You must be registered to vote in Halifax County to be a poll worker

  • Note: This voter registration requirement does not apply to poll workers under the age of 18.

Work Requirements

  • Minimum Age: 17-year-old high school students who are U.S. citizens and county residents.

  • You must complete training to be a poll worker.

  • Training Details: In-person training typically lasts 3 to 4 hours.

Individuals who are comfortable using computers and tablets are strongly encouraged to apply.
