Voter Registration Requirements

  • You must be registered to vote in Montgomery County to be a poll worker

  • Note: This voter registration requirement does not apply to poll workers under the age of 18.

Work Requirements

  • Minimum Age: 17-year-old high school students who are U.S. citizens and county residents.

  • Training Details: In-person training typically lasts 2.5 hours and is required prior to each election. Additional online training resources are available.

In the event of under-staffing, electors from outside the precinct are permitted to work at the polls on Election Day. All workers have the option to work split shifts except for the Judge of Election.

Montgomery County is in need of poll workers who are bilingual and speak Spanish or American Sign Language.
