Poll Worker Start Time:
6:00 AM
Poll Worker End Time:
10:00 PM or later. (Full and part-day shifts are available. Part-day shifts run from 6:00 AM to 1:00 PM and 1:00 PM until 10:00 PM or later)
Compensation:
$20 to $25 per hour for Election Day and training.

Voter Registration Requirements

  • You must be registered to vote in Michigan to be a poll worker

  • Note: This voter registration requirement does not apply to poll workers under the age of 18.

Work Requirements

  • Minimum Age: 16

  • You must complete training to be a poll worker.

  • Training Details: In-person training typically lasts 3 to 4 hours. Poll workers must complete training at least once every two years.
