  • Compensation:
    $200 to $250 on Election Day. For any hours worked after 10:00 PM, poll workers earn an additional $10 per hour or the prevailing minimum wage, whichever is higher. Students are paid $12 per hour or the prevailing minimum wage. $45 for training.

Voter Registration Requirements

  • You must be registered to vote in Michigan to be a poll worker

  • Note: This voter registration requirement does not apply to poll workers under the age of 18.

Work Requirements

  • Minimum Age: 16

  • You must complete training to be a poll worker.

  • Training Details: Training lasts approximately 4 hours. Poll workers are required to attend training at least once every two years.

In addition to Election Day workers, Brownstown Charter Township is hiring Early Voting workers for state and federal elections. Early voting pay is $200 on workdays and $250 over the weekend. Early voting shifts run from 7:00 AM until approximately 5:00 PM.
