    Approximately 8:00 to 9:00 PM     (Full and part-day poll worker shifts are available. Part-day shifts for adults run from 5:00 AM to 1:00 PM and 12:30 PM to the end of the day. Shifts for high school student poll workers run from 5:00 AM to 10:00 AM, 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM, and 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM.)

    Full Day: $200. Half Day: $80. High school student poll workers are not paid.

Voter Registration Requirements

  • You must be registered to vote in Virginia to be a poll worker

Work Requirements

  • Minimum Age: High school students interested in getting involved should contact their local election officials for information.

  • You must complete training to be a poll worker.

  • Training Details: In-person training typically lasts 2 hours. Poll workers serve three year terms and must be trained to Commonwealth developed standards at the start of each term. They must also be updated upon the institution of any new laws.

In addition to polling workers, Loudoun County is hiring absentee ballot workers to work pre-Election Day, on Election Day, and post-Election Day.
