    Poll workers earn at least the state's hourly minimum wage rate for Election Day and training. Supervising workers receive an extra $6 per day. Mileage is also reimbursed at the state's mileage reimbursement rate.

Voter Registration Requirements

  • You must be registered to vote in Linn County to be a poll worker

  • Note: This voter registration requirement does not apply to poll workers under the age of 18.

Work Requirements

  • Minimum Age: 16-year-olds who are U.S. citizens and county residents.

  • You must complete training to be a poll worker.

  • Training Details: In-person training typically lasts 1.5 to 2.5 hours.

Workers must have transportation to and from training and the Election Day work site.
