Compensation:
Election Day: $35 to $350. Early Voting: $150 per day. Parish Board of Election Commissioner: $50 to $100 per meeting.

Voter Registration Requirements

  • You must be registered to vote in St. Mary Parish to be a poll worker

  • Note: This voter registration requirement does not apply to poll workers under the age of 18.

Work Requirements

  • Minimum Age: 17-year-old high school seniors.

  • You must complete training to be a poll worker.

  • Training Details: Training is conducted online.

Additional Information

Students enrolled at institutions of higher learning located in Louisiana may be poll workers in the parish where their institution is located if the students are registered to vote in any state and submit to the clerk a copy of their student identification or fee bill showing current enrollment as well as proof of voter registration.

Early voting work hours are from 8:30 AM until after the polls close at 6:00 PM. Parish Board of Election Commissioners will be notified for their time of work, but it typically lasts at least four hours.
