Poll workers are expected to work all elections within a two-year term of office. At the end of the term, they will be re-certified for another term of office. If for any reason a worker is unable to work an election or does not wish to continue as a poll worker, the Election Commission should be notified as soon as possible.
Election officials may allow students who are U.S. citizens and are enrolled in public or private Illinois universities, colleges, or community colleges to serve as poll workers without being registered to vote in the jurisdiction. Contact your election officials (contact info above) for more information.
