    $225 for Election Day. $40 flat rate for online training. Mileage is reimbursed to and from in-person training and to and from the polling place at the federal rate. Non-Election Day positions start at $15 per hour.

Voter Registration Requirements

  • You must be registered to vote in Linn County to be a poll worker

  • Note: This voter registration requirement does not apply to poll workers under the age of 18.

Work Requirements

  • Minimum Age: 17-year-old high school students who are U.S. citizens and county residents.

  • You must complete training to be a poll worker.

  • Training Details: A combination of online and in-person training is required. Online training and in-person training typically last 2 hours each.

Individuals who are comfortable using computers and tablets are strongly encouraged to apply.

In addition to Election Day workers, Linn County is looking for Early Voting workers. Please contact election officials, listed above, for additional information.
