Poll Worker Start Time:
6:00 AM
Poll Worker End Time:
9:00 to 10:00 PM (Supervisory workers must work the entire day. Other workers can work part-day shifts.)
Compensation:
$9 to $10 per hour, plus mileage reimbursement paid at $0.67 per mile.

Voter Registration Requirements

  • You must be registered to vote in Hamilton County to be a poll worker

  • Note: This voter registration requirement does not apply to poll workers under the age of 18.

Work Requirements

  • Minimum Age: 17-year-old high school students who are U.S. citizens and county residents.

  • You must complete training to be a poll worker.

  • Training Details: In-person training typically lasts 1 to 2 hours. At least two poll workers from each precinct must attend training prior to primary and general elections. Preference for training must be given to poll workers who have never attended a training session before. Contact your county auditor for more information.
