    $200 for Election Day. $12.50 per hour for training. Receiving and Returning Managers are entitled to up to $50 per election and mileage reimbursement over 10 miles.

Voter Registration Requirements

  • You must be registered to vote in Hancock County to be a poll worker

  • Note: This voter registration requirement does not apply to poll workers under the age of 18.

Work Requirements

  • Minimum Age: 16-year-old high school juniors/seniors who are county residents

  • You must complete training to be a poll worker.

  • Training Details: Poll workers must complete a training course within the 12 months prior to each election in which they serve. There are two forms of training: online and in-person. If the online training course is not completed, the poll worker must attend a 4-8 hour in-person training. If the online training course is completed, then only 2 hours of in-person training is needed.

Hancock County typically reaches out to interested individuals in September or October for poll worker training and assignment. Please contact election officials, listed above, for additional information.
