Voter Registration Requirements

  • You must be registered to vote in Polk County to be a poll worker

  • Note: This voter registration requirement does not apply to poll workers under the age of 18.

Work Requirements

  • Minimum Age: 16-year-olds who are preregistered to vote in the county

  • You must complete training to be a poll worker.

  • Training Details: In-person training typically lasts one hour.

Additional Information

Bilingual individuals are encouraged to apply, particularly English-Spanish speakers.

In addition to traditional poll workers, Polk County is hiring workers who check and receive poll workers as they return supplies and equipment. Those workers earn $12 per hour.

Individuals who are comfortable using computers and tablets are strongly encouraged to apply.
