Voter Registration Requirements

  • You must be registered to vote in Chowan County to be a poll worker

  • Note: This voter registration requirement does not apply to poll workers under the age of 18.

Work Requirements

  • Minimum Age: 17-year-old high school students who are U.S. citizens and county residents.

  • You must complete training to be a poll worker.

  • Training Details: In-person training typically lasts 1.5 to 4 hours.

During Early Voting for the general election, polling hours are from 8:00 AM to 7:30 PM Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM on Saturday, and 1:00 to 5:00 PM on Sunday. Election Day working hours are listed above.
