Voter Registration Requirements

  • You must be registered to vote in Chatham County to be a poll worker

  • Note: This voter registration requirement does not apply to poll workers under the age of 18.

Work Requirements

  • Minimum Age: 17-year-old high school students who are U.S. citizens and county residents.

  • You must complete training to be a poll worker.

  • Training Details: Training typically lasts 2 to 2.5 hours. Training may be conducted in-person or online.

In addition to Election Day workers, the Chatham County is looking for Early Voting workers.

Early Voting workers may work half-day shifts during the Early Voting period. Early Voting work runs Monday to Friday 7:30 AM to 8:00 PM; Saturday 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM with the last Saturday of the Early Voting period from 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM.

Individuals who are comfortable using computers and tablets are strongly encouraged to apply.

Bilingual English-Spanish speakers are encouraged to apply.

All poll workers assist with the polling location setup the day before Election Day.
