9:00 PM (Most poll workers must work the entire day. There is an election night shift from 6:00 PM to 11:00 PM.)
Compensation:
$16.22 to $21.16 per hour.

Voter Registration Requirements

  • Poll workers over the age of 18 must either be registered voters in California or be lawfully admitted for permanent residence in the U.S. and otherwise eligible to register to vote except for their lack of U.S. citizenship.

  • Note: This voter registration requirement does not apply to poll workers under the age of 18.

Work Requirements

  • Minimum Age: 16-year-old students who are U.S. citizens or lawfully admitted for U.S. permanent residence.

  • You must complete training to be a poll worker.

  • Training Details: In-person training typically lasts one day.

Placer County encourages bilingual individuals who speak English and one of the following languages to apply: Spanish, Tagalog, Korean, Punjabi, ASL.

Placer County is hiring workers for Vote Centers which are open in the weeks prior to Election Day. Early vote commitments vary by number of days. Early vote hours working are from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM for the days leading up to Election Day. Election Day hours are listed above.

Placer County is also hiring for Election Night workers from 8:00 to 11:00 PM.
