  • Compensation:
    $200 to $225 for Election Day. $35 for training. In addition, mileage to attend training is reimbursed. Poll workers who work at a polling place 10 miles or more from their home shall be allowed reimbursement for mileage incurred from their home to and from their assigned polling place. Inspectors shall be allowed reimbursement for mileage incurred to receive or return ballots and materials for the election.

Work Requirements

  • Minimum Age: 18

  • You must complete training to be a poll worker.

  • Training Details: Poll workers are re-trained in each even-numbered year, and at other times as the Secretary of the State Election Board deems necessary. Training typically lasts 2 hours and is offered both in-person and online. Training materials can also be mailed, if necessary.
